Dates and figs roll is one of the guilt free healthy nutritious festive dessert. For this recipe i am using dates,figs,nuts and poppy seeds.

Makes 6-8
Ingredients
12 soft deseeded dates roughly chopped
6-7 soft figs roughly chopped
1/4 cup mixed roated nuts(cashews,pistacho,almonds roughly chopped)
3tbsp roasted poppy seeds
1tsp ghee
Procedure:
1)Heat a pan and dry roast poppy seeds on a medium to low flame and set a side.
2)Similarly dry roast all the nuts for couple of minutes and set aside.
3)In a blender add dates and figs and make a fine paste set aside in a bowl.
4)Heat a non stick pan with ghee on a medium to low flame and then add date & fig paste fry for few minutes and then add nuts+2 tbsp roasted poppy seeds. Mix well so that all the nuts and poppy seeds are incorporated well.
5)Allow the mixture to cool down and make a log by greasing you palms with few drops of ghee.
6)Roll the log in poppy seeds and grease the knife and cut them into 6 thick circular disc.
Notes:
-You can add nuts of your choice.
-It is important to roast the nuts for few mins as it brings out essential oils and enhances the taste.
-If poppy seeds unavailable you can use unsweetened shredded coconut.
