Vegan crumbled chana dal

It is prepared by soaking chana dal for an hour and ground it to a coarse fine paste. Saute it with onions and season it with Indian spices. Protein rich side dish and a healthy snack recipe. Serve it with cooked quinoa or steamed rice or eat as is with a dash of lime.

Ingredients:
1 cup soaked chana dal (wash and soak chana dal for an hour)
1 small piece of ginger
few mint leaves
few cilantro leaves
2 dry red chilies
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
salt to taste

-In a blender add all the ingredients and ground it to a coarse fine paste.

For seasoning:
1 medium onion finely chopped
2 green chilies finely chopped
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp oil
1 spring of curry leaves
pinch of turmeric
pinch of hing
salt to taste

Procedure:
-Heat a skillet on medium heat add oil and all the seasoning ingredients fry until onion are translucent.
-Then add the ground chana dal paste by using spatula break the chana dal mixture and fry until it is separated and creates a crumbly texture.
-Serve hot with steamed rice or roti or Quinoa or eat as is with a dash of lime juice.
