Poori

Poori is a popular Indian deep fried puffed bread prepared with wheat flour dough.It can be paired with sweet and savory side dish.It can served for breakfast or dinner.

Prep time:5 mins
Cook time:15mins

Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
pinch of salt
water for kneading
Oil for frying

Procedure:
1)In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients(wheat flour,salt and water) mix well and form a thick dough and set aside.
2)Divide the dough into 12 equal size portions and take one portion of dough using a rolling pin roll out into a small circular disc.similarly prepare for rest of the dough.
3)Heat a skillet with oil for frying once the oil is hot enough add poori to oil and fry once it is puffed up then flip on to the other side  until and fry until it is light golden brown.
4)Place the fried poori’s onto a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
5)Similarly prepare the pooris with rest of the dough.Fry and serve hot with potato curry or with sooji halwa.
