Dosa a thin and a crispy crepe made from rice and urad dal. It is a popular South Indian breakfast recipe served with coconut chutney on side along with some potato masala.
Prep time:20 mins+ overnight soak time
2 cups of rice
3/4 cup of urad dal
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
water as needed
salt to taste
-Wash and soak dal, rice,fenugreek seeds overnight. Add it to wet grinder and make it into a smooth paste the consistency should be not too thick and not too thin.
-Cover the batter with plate and allow it to ferment in room temperature for 8-10 hours.
-Heat a non stick pan on a medium flame and add laddle full of batter spread evenly in the form of a circle.
-Brush few drop of oil and allow it turn golden brown.Cook the other side a minutes.
-Hot and cripsy plain dosa is ready to serve with some coconut chutney on the side.
-My mom add couple of tbsp of chana dal so that the dosa get some golden color.
