Raw Banana(Plantain) fritters is a wonderful evening tea time snack. Thinly sliced plantain dipped in chickpea batter and deep fried until it turns golden brown. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
1 Raw plantain(Wash, peel and thinly slice the plantain and soak them in water set aside.)
Oil for deep frying
For Chickpea batter:
1cup Chickpea flour
1tsp Red chili powder
1/2tsp Ajwain seeds
pinch of baking soda
salt to taste
water as needed
Chickpea Batter procedure:
In a large mixing bowl add all the batter ingredients with enough water until the batter reaches medium consistency and set aside.
1)Heat oil for deep frying. Dip each plantain slice in the chickpea batter and deep fry until it turns golden color evenly on both sides.
2)Place the fritters on the paper towel to remove any excess oil and serve hot with tomato ketchup or eat as is.
