Paneer paratha

Paneer paratha is a Indian flatbread filled with grated paneer(Indian cottage cheese) and some Indian spices. It goes well with plain yogurt.

Prep time:30mins
cook time:5mins
Makes 6-8

Ingredients:

For dough:
1cup Multi grain flour
water for kneading the dough
salt to taste

Procedure to make dough:

-In a large bowl prepare the dough by mixing flour, salt and water into a hard dough. Allow it to rest for 30mins.
-Divide the dough into 6 to 8 equal round balls.

For the filling:
1/2 cup grated paneer or tofu
2 green chilies finely chopped
1 medium onion finely chopped
2 tbsp cilantro
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp Red chili powder
pinch of salt

Procedure:

-In a bowl mix all the filling ingredients together and set aside.

Procedure to prepare Paneer Paratha:

1)Stuff each ball of dough with teaspoon of filling and seal the dough. Similarly follow the same process for rest of the dough.


2)Take a rolling pin and rollout the paratha evenly into a circle.
3)Once the pan is hot enough place the paratha onto the pan and cook on both sides.
4)Remove the cooked paneer paratha into a casserole and serve it hot with plain yogurt or curry of your choice or Indian Pickle.

Notes:
-You can substitute Paneer for tofu.
