Methi Paratha

Methi paratha is prepared by combining wheat flour or multigrain flour with Methi(fenugreek leaves) to make a flat bread.Fenugreek leaves are available a lot at our local grocery stores. It is very rich in calcium and iron. If Methi (Fenugreek) leaves unavailable you can use spinach.

Prep time:20 mins
Cook time:25 mins

Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 cups wash and roughly chopped fenugreek leaves
1 cup whole wheat flour
pinch of turmeric
salt to taste
2 green chilies finely chopped(optional)
few drops of oil
1/2 tsp of red chili powder
water to knead the dough

Procedure:
1)In a large bowl, add all the ingredients and make a firm dough.


2)Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and set aside for 10-15 mins.
3)Take one part of the dough dust it with the dry flour and roll it into a round flat bread.
4)Heat a pan on a medium heat and place the flat bread cook until you see the brown spots on both sides.
5)Remove from pan ,place into the casserole and add little melted butter on both side,close the lid.
6)Same way finish the rest of the dough and serve hot with tomato ketchup,Indian pickle ,Yogurt or curry of your choice.img_3649
