Homemade Vegetable broth

Making your own vegetable broth is one of the easy thing to do.I use it in a lot of my recipes (for soups,cooking quinoa,brown rice,sauces).It tastes very good.You can also check the amount sodium that goes into the broth if you make it at home 🙂

Time 1 hr
Makes 3 and 1/2 cups
Ingredients:
2 Broccoli stalks
2 Onions
4 ribs of celery
3 Carrot
2 tomato

For Seasoning:
Few Sprigs of Parsley
Cliantro stalks
1tbsp pepper corn
1 bay leaf
5 cups water
salt to taste


Procedure

  • In a large pot add roughly chop  vegetables,water and all the seasonings.

  • Bring it to boil and cook covered for 1 hr on medium flame.
  • Pour the broth through a mesh strainer into a bowl.Allow it to cool and then transfer to a mason jar and store it in the fridge.


Notes:

-I usually consume within a week .
-But it will last in the freezer upto 1-2 months.
