Coconut & Curry Leaves Chutney

Coconut Chutney is great accompaniment with South Indian breakfast recipes like Dosa,Idli,Vada,Upma. And my recipe can be made in 5 mins that is equally delicious as the restaurant one.

Time  5 mins

Serves 2

Ingredients:

1 cup Roasted unsalted Peanuts

1/2 cup Shredded Unsweetened dry coconut or fresh coconut

2 string of curry leaves

small piece of ginger

4-5 green chilies

salt to taste

For Seasoning/Tadka:(Optional)

1/2 tsp of mustard seeds

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 tsp of urad dal

Pinch of hing/Asafoetida

Procedure:

  •  Combine together all the ingredients in a blender and grind to paste.Take it in a bowl and keep it aside.
  •  For tadka heat a pan with little oil or no oil allow the mustard seeds to splutter then add jeera ,urad dal,Hing fry till the urad dal color changes to brown in reduced flame.
  • Then top it up onto the Coconut chutney. It is completely optional to season/Tadka.It tastes equally good without seasoning as well.
  • This Chutney is good  for Idly ,Dosa ,Upma & Vada.
